The Good Heart Organization is raising funds through the Donate a Brick campaign to set up a Special Care Community School in order to provide some 300 children with special needs, with a state of the art environment for their education and holistic upbringing. We would like to open the school in September 2011, so we need all your support NOW to make this dream come true.
As the Special Care Centre will be financed by the community, it is also intended to be a place which non-students and their families can use to improve their skills and also benefit from individual, group or family counseling. Visitors and members of the Community at large will thus be able to use the numerous facilities that will be provided by the school: auditorium, gymnasium, multipurpose area, hydrotherapy pool, clinic, library, school shop, playground, gardens, etc.
The site earmarked for the proposed school is located at Al Bahia. It has a total land extent of 22,447.59 square meters.
The site is situated in a nice residential area of Al Bahia, and the school is designed to be a non-conventional, modern building, a recreational complex for use by one and all. We want the school to mirror not only the natural beauty of the region but also the unique and heartfelt way funds were raised to build the school, brick by brick. The building will be a functional space, with an abundance of natural sunlight where students and community members will find peace and solace, as well as much-needed services. The building will be 100% compliant with established international standards for schools catering for children with special needs.
